The Resonance Retreat

In an intimate group setting, nestled in Southwest Michigan’s gorgeous fall landscape, explore simple, accessible practices—humming, Mantra, Pranayama (breathwork), deep listening, intention-setting, and guided sound journeys—that gently regulate the nervous system and build inner steadiness.

Susanne, Megan, and Danea will lead classes and workshops, gentle stretching, and guided group experiences balanced with intentional time for silent reflection and immersion in nature. Danea will prepare nourishing meals, delicious snacks, and warm beverages all weekend long, with careful attention to dietary restrictions and preferences.

Through quiet mornings, communal chanting, creative ritual, and spacious rest, you’ll discover what practices feel sustainable for your life. You’ll leave the weekend with a clear, embodied toolkit—practices you can return to daily when you need grounding, clarity, or calm.

Whether you cozy up in the cabin, soak up starlight in your tent, or take in forest views from the converted shipping container, you’ll enjoy a weekend full of connection, community, and practice.

Additional Offerings: Interested in 1:1 vocal toning or a self-image photography workshop? Book a solo-session with Megan!

Meet Your Retreat Leaders

Susanne Werblow is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher, and the founder of Kundalini Yoga GR, who brings a grounded, trauma-aware, and body-centered approach to healing and self-regulation through breath, movement, meditation, and sound. Her path to yoga began in 2006 while recovering from chronic back pain—an experience that reshaped her relationship with her body and revealed the power of simple practices to restore balance from within.

Susanne’s teaching emphasizes the nervous system’s natural capacity to regulate, respond, and return to steadiness. She is especially passionate about the healing qualities of vibration—through humming, mantra, and gentle chanting—as accessible tools for calming the mind, supporting emotional resilience, and reconnecting with inner presence. Her work is rooted in the belief that sound practices don’t need to be complicated to be deeply effective, and that even a few minutes of breath and voice can shift how we feel in the body.

Alongside her Kundalini teaching, Susanne offers sound-based experiences including toning with singing bowls, deep sound relaxations with gong and other instruments, and immersive sound and art journeys at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. She also chants and plays harmonium with the local kirtan band Bhakti Heart, bringing the heart-centered power of communal singing into her offerings.

Trained at Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago, Susanne has been teaching since 2013 In Grand Rapids Michigan. Her style is warm, steady, and supportive—creating a safe, welcoming space where participants can slow down, listen inward, and leave with practical tools they can carry into everyday life.

Megan Smit is the founder of Wave Tone Studio, where she weaves together sound, light, and mindful presence to create experiences that help individuals reconnect with themselves. Since 2012, her work has centered on authentic expression—first through photography and later through immersive sound practices. She is especially drawn to creating spaces where people can soften self-judgment, regulate their nervous systems, and feel safe to be seen and heard.

Trained in Sound Ceremony and Reiki, Megan brings years of embodied practice to her work. From 2020-2025 she co-lead kirtans and devotional chant experiences with Chants for Peace throughout West Michigan. She regularly facilitates mantra classes, sound workshops, and private sound healings guiding others into accessible practices of chanting, listening, and meditation. Her teaching style is simple and grounded—offering tools that participants can confidently carry into their daily lives.
